I’m eric buckman

I’m a storyteller. Photography is my medium.

You know, it’s really hard sometimes to write about yourself. You want to come across as impressive but still real. I capture images for a living, but I’m not too interested in maintaining one for myself. Authenticity is what I care about, and that’s the driving force behind my work.

My aim is to tell a story. Not to manufacture something that isn’t real. When I take a picture of a person, I want you to feel as if you know that person. When I work with a couple, I want the love they share to be evident. When I capture a wedding, I want you to relive the joy that was there that day. Life is saturated with images, with noise. I strive to cut through that all with my work and share moments that touch the heart. Good photography should wake something up inside of you.

Now just a little about me. Born in California, I’ve been in Pittsburgh since I was 3 years old. I’m passionate about my faith, about traveling, and about indie rock. I quote sitcoms, a lot. When I’m not working I’m usually holed up in a coffee shop, rereading a C.S. Lewis book I’ve already read 4 times. My aim is to always encourage and motivate the people around me. I always make people laugh, more so because of how funny my laugh is than how funny I am. Every time I pick up my camera, I want to be better than I was the last time. Most of all, I would love to create something special with you. So reach out!

Let’s create together.
